Background
 
Nii Ankrah is a Quantity Surveyor by profession with industry experience covering pre-contract approximate estimating, cost planning, measurement of construction work, project planning and management, and contract administration. He completed a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Building Technology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana. During this period and for a year after completing his degree, Nii worked with a building contractor with business activity in both the house building and contracting sectors of the construction industry. Nii also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Quantity Surveyor at the Department of Building Technology, KNUST.
 
Subsequent to this, Nii secured a scholarship to read a Masters degree in Construction Management at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, graduating with distinction in 2003, following which he undertook and completed a PhD in 2007 at the University of Wolverhampton examining the impact of cultural orientations on construction project performance outcomes.
 
Nii Ankrah joined the School of Engineering and the Built Environment (SEBE) in 2007 and is presently a lecturer and researcher in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, and Construction Project Management.
 
Research Interests
 
Nii’s research interests focus primarily on human behaviour within construction project and construction organisation contexts. Particular research interests include: social rules and processes that affect behaviours of people in construction as individuals and as members of project teams and construction organizations; cultural orientations; team development; as well as issues relating to tendering and procurement of construction projects.
