Uni welcomes Italian visitors
A group of Italian students have been given a taste of University life in the UK during a visit to Wolverhampton.
The eight students visited the University of Wolverhampton to study a range of modules including Media, History, Politics and Sociology.
The
School of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences
has been linked with the University of Turin since 1999. The students stayed with families in Wolverhampton and also visited cultural attractions.
This year’s visit was organised by Senior Lecturer in Italian and Film Studies, Eleanor Andrews. She said: “The eight Italian students have done their utmost to integrate into the way of life at the University of Wolverhampton during their month here. They attended my class in Italian Cinema, which is held at the Light House Media Centre. They were able to give us a great deal of cultural insight into the films we saw.
“Some of them also came to my Basic Italian class, which is part of the Wolverhampton Languages Programme, to help the students with conversation. It made for a lively session.”
Six of the students were from the Turin area, one is from Sicily and another is Romanian, and they were all aged between 21 and 25. A University of Wolverhampton student is currently in Turin as part of the Erasmus exchange programme.
