New Insight

New Public Lectures series launched

The University’s twelfth series of FREE public lectures starts this month.

The events offer an opportunity to engage with the wide range of research undertaken at the University of Wolverhampton.

Professor Jean Gilkison, Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, said: “The variety of cultural, technological, historical and professional concerns addressed within this series highlights the wide range of interests and expertise found within our research community.

The Public Lecture Programme is enhanced by our annual Holocaust Memorial Lecture. This year we are delighted to welcome Steven Frank, who will be talking about his life during and after the Holocaust.”

This year’s programme features many other highlights, including a guest lecture by Professor Colin McInnes, Head of the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University and UNESCO Professor of HIV/AIDS Education and Security in Africa.

And Visiting Professor Michael Finnissy, a highly regarded British composer who has taught many of the new generation of British composers.

Tickets for the Holocaust lecture need to be booked in advance. There is no need to book for the other lectures.

Prof Gilkison added: “We hope you enjoy the series of talks on offer this year and look forward to seeing you there!”
