All the world’s a stage …
A group of graduates who formed a theatre company are returning to the University of Wolverhampton to offer inspiration to the next intake of budding performers.
Void Physical Theatre consists of recent graduates of the Drama & Performance programme at the
School of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure
. Paul Atkins, Rebecca Ball, James Latham and Adam Day all chose to specialise in the physical theatre genre, a mixture of dance and drama, for their degrees.
They will be bringing their show Room to Breathe, to the Arena Theatre on Thursday, September 18 and the Drama department is incorporating the show into the Induction Week activities. Void will conduct workshops for the new students and then they will be able to watch a performance of the show.
Dr Ruth Shade, Head of Drama, said: "It is so rewarding for the Drama department to see its graduates creating their own employment opportunities and building their own theatre companies. We are delighted that our Drama degree course has equipped students to be independent, innovative, creative and entrepreneurial.
“We are thrilled to welcome Void back as professional theatre practitioners in their own right and hope that they will inspire current undergraduates to follow in their footsteps."
