Artwork showcased to the public
Innovative artwork by University of Wolverhampton MA students is being exhibited to the public.
The ULTIMATE:08 MA graduation show covers a variety of mediums from ceramics to graphic design, fine art to glass, furniture to interactive and interior design.
And for the first time, there is also work on show by students from the new
MA in Design for Advertising
.
A broad range of students are exhibiting work, including members of staff, international students and people who have progressed from undergraduate courses.
Colin Davies, Head of MA Programmes, said: “I look forward to seeing how the MA acts as a launch pad to their careers as they return to their professional lives both locally and around the globe. I wish all 08 graduates a prosperous and creative future.”
The University’s
School of Art & Design
is one of 18 colleges and universities across England that has been successful in its application to run an Artists Access to Art Colleges Scheme (AA2A), so in addition to the MA students, resident practising artists will also be exhibiting their work on the sixth floor.
The AA2A scheme will give four artists and makers each year the opportunity to use the School’s facilities, from computers to kilns and life rooms to libraries, to develop their work.
The total number of students exhibiting is 30, along with four artists in residence.
Exhibitors include Leroy Henry (AA2A), who has had recent exhibitions of his prints at the Symphony hall in Birmingham.
Photography student Karen Mills is exhibiting her work on The Onion Cave, a family holiday location with unusual rock formations.
The show is at the School of Art & Design, MK Building, Molineux Street, Wolverhampton, from Mon September 8 – Thurs September 11 from 11am – 6pm.
