Retirement for May
A long serving member of staff has retired from the
University after 33 years of service.
May Smith, who was a member of the cleaning team at City
Campus, retired from her role last month and a celebration was held
with friends and colleagues.
May was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a voucher by
Sandy Shaw.
She is now looking forward to spending more time with her
family and grandchildren.
May said: “I just can’t believe I won’t be coming here any
more. I will miss you all.”
Sue Winsper, Senior Cleaning Services Coordinator, said: “May
was very reliable and hard working, and a very pleasant member of
staff. She will be very much missed by us all.”
May’s mother also worked at the University many years ago,
when it was still a polytechnic.
