School pupils design new Uni campus
Black Country school pupils have been challenged to design a campus of the future for a University of Wolverhampton event.
More than 120 Year 10 pupils are set to take part in the Aimhigher Enterprise Fest at the Wolverhampton City Campus on Wednesday, July 2, 2008.
Teams of students from the participating schools have designed a new university campus, which involved investigating university life, tuitions fees, subjects and student support.
On July 2, the finalists will come to the University of Wolverhampton and deliver a presentation about their new campus to a panel of judges. They will take part in student life workshops and tours of the University campus, and hear from guest speaker Toby Caldwell from Inspire.
Debbie Hodgetts, External Liaison Officer at the
University of Wolverhampton Business School
, said: "We hope the event will inspire, motivate and excite the students about real business and enterprise and ultimately raise their aspiration and awareness of university life."
The schools taking part this year are: Heathpark Business and Enterprise College, High Arcal Science College, Bristnall Hall Technology College, Colton Hills Community School, Kingswinford School, Redhill School and Willenhall Comprehensive School.
The event has been funded by Aimhigher.
