High praise for student financial support scheme
The University of Wolverhampton’s
financial support for students has received national recognition at
a prestigious award ceremony.
The University was highly commended at the Times Higher Awards
2007 for its innovative Regional Cashback Bursary.
Lou Taylor-Murison, who runs the bursary, was shortlisted for
the prestigious award under the category of Outstanding Financial
Support Package. The award was presented in recognition of the
University’s approach in working in partnership with Aimhigher,
schools, colleges and information, advice and guidance
services.
The University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, Jane
Nelson, said: “We’re delighted that Lou’s work with students from
our partner schools and colleges has been highly commended by the

“Lou and her colleagues work extremely hard to spread the
message about the University’s courses and the financial support
packages available to students, and it is wonderful to see that
this has been recognised.”
Sir Martin Harris, award judge and director of the Office for
Fair Access, was impressed with the partnership approach the
University of Wolverhampton has taken in designing its financial
support package.
