Professor Caroline Gipps is announced as the University’s new Vice-Chancellor. She s the first woman to hold the position and is determined to raise the national profile and aspirations of the University.
A new India office is announced for the University to help further improve its international recruitment.
The University’s annual 'learn-in', where the Harrison Learning Centre is a venue for a sleepover for school children, is another resounding success. Fun workshops are held which give a taste of university life and raise aspirations.
Scientists from the University, led by Dr Gillian Pearce, offer hope to stroke patients thanks to a new detection device.
