Top accreditation for human resources degree

A University of Wolverhampton degree has received top accreditation, recognising the professional quality of the course.

The BA (Hons) Human Resources Management has been approved by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

This means that students who enrol on the course will now graduate with Associate membership of the CIPD, which is a professional level of membership.

Nicky Adams, Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in HR and Leadership at the University, said: “Having an appropriate level of CIPD membership is critical in today’s competitive business environment and is usually a requirement for achieving a human resources (HR) role.

"A CIPD qualification shows an employer you have not only a level of knowledge and skill, but a level of professionalism that is crucial in providing leadership and guidance in all aspects of HR.  It gives your potential employer confidence that you understand the challenges of working in HR as well as in a wider business setting and that you can deal with these challenges competently and confidently."

Achieving Associate (known as Assoc CIPD) status will enable graduates to demonstrate they possess up-to-date and relevant skills and knowledge. It also shows commitment to good practice and continuing professional development.
