Established in 1988, Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is a registered charity offering a network of care for life limited and life threatened babies, children and young people and their families, across the heart of England.
The children and young people that we help are not expected to reach adulthood and require specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the last year Acorns has supported 876 children and 1,097 families, including those who are bereaved.
They welcome volunteers from all walks of life, and benefit greatly from drawing on their skills and life experiences and whether it be once a month, a week or an hour a day. They rely on volunteers to help in their 3 hospices, our 55 shops throughout the region, head office and of course, helping out in the community at public collections and other fundraising events.
