Would you like teach English in China?

No experience is required but you must have a genuine interest in teaching and be a native English speaker. This would be perfect if you want to gain experience prior to starting a career in teaching or to add international experience to your CV.

So how does ‘Teaching English in China’ work?

The length of placements can vary from one semester to two (5-10 months), but that depends on the university you are placed with. The same applies for the wage/salary as it’s covered by the Chinese University; it usually varies from ¥3,000 (around £300) to ¥4,000 (around £400) per month.

The University of Wolverhampton will support you through the application process, will pay for your Chinese Visa and guide you through the Visa application process.

Successful candidates will be employed via a Chinese University upon where you will teach English to students.

The Chinese University will cover the costs for:

  • Flights
  • Insurance
  • Accommodation

You will be provided with a TEFL short course before you leave Wolverhampton to help prepare you for teaching in the classroom.

Do you qualify for a placement?

You must hold a valid UK/EU passport and have graduated from the University of Wolverhampton.

You can apply for this programme up to three years after completing your degree.
