At Wolverhampton there are many opportunities to meet employers at Careers Fairs and one off events such as employer presentations, career workshops and 'drop-ins'. Meeting employers on campus is a good way to explore a range of career options in an informal environment.The Annual Recruitment Fair is one of the biggest events on-campus, taking place yearly and attracting over 70 employers who would like to speak to you.
This event is a great way of meeting face-to-face with potential recruiters offering part-time jobs, volunteering, graduate vacancies, work experience placements, international work experience and opportunities for further study.

This session will provide an introduction to working in Local Government. A brief presentation will give an overview of Local Government as a sector, explore the roles of Councillors and council employees and highlight some of the services it provides to communities including social care, regeneration and transport.
The session will then highlight the experiences of working at City of Wolverhampton Council, with particular reference to experiencing Local Government from a graduate perspective.

This session will provide an overview of the NGDP – Local Government’s graduate scheme. It will provide information relating to the structure of the scheme, participating Councils and the ILM qualification in Leadership and Management.
This will be followed by an in-depth look at the application process through an interactive workshop. Students will be able to have a taste of what to expect with existing NGDP graduates guiding them through the process.
This will be followed by Q&A.

This session will provide an opportunity for NGDP graduates at both City of Wolverhampton Council and West Midlands Combined Authority to speak of their experiences of the scheme and why they chose Local Government for their career.
It will also provide an insight into the wide variety of work undertaken by our graduates and provide an insight into the jobs our graduates have moved in to following the scheme. Students will be encouraged to ask questions throughout and discuss their own interests for pursuing a career in Local Government.
