Applicant Open Events

To find out more about the GTA scheme and speak to PGCE and scheme staff, come along to one of our Applicant Open Events.

This will help you decide if the GTA scheme is for you and is aimed at helping you with your application. Events consist of a short presentation about the scheme and Q&A session.

  • Thursday 27 April 2017, 4pm, WN202, Samuel Johnson Building, Walsall Campus
  • Friday 28 April 2017, 12.30pm, MC418, Millennium City Building, City Campus

Application form and job description

  • The GTA scheme is advertised under current vacancies on the University website.
  • You will need to submit an application form for the relevant Faculty, dependent on subject area.
  • Submit your form(s) between 14 April 2017 and the closing date, 14 May 2017.

  • Check your eligibility for the PGCE programme.
  • Check your eligibility for the scheme against the person specification, for example:
  • Are you a recent University of Wolverhampton undergraduate?
  • Do you want a career in the UK post compulsory education sector?

Interviews

  • Interviews will take place from 12 June 2017 onwards.
  • You will be asked to prepare a short presentation.
  • Panel interviews will take place.

Start date

  • The GTA scheme will commence on Tuesday 29 August 2017.
  • Your induction programme will begin on Tuesday 29 August 2017.
  • You will commence your PGCE programme on Friday 9 September 2017.
  • You will need to have completed your DBS and Fitness to Practice assessments.
