Why become a Student Ambassador

Becoming part of the Student Ambassador family at the University of Wolverhampton is a very rewarding role. Not only does it develop your communication and teamwork skills, it also increases your employability and gives you the opportunity to earn money in a variety of settings around your university studies. Student Ambassadors work on behalf of the University of Wolverhampton to support with the delivery of a wide range of aspiration raising sessions, activities and events for people of all ages, to encourage them to consider higher education as an option for their future.

As a Student Ambassador at the University of Wolverhampton you have the opportunity to get involved with a range of different types of work allowing you to develop skills you already have as well as gain new ones. As an ambassador, you commit to a code of conduct and will receive training in order to work with young people and representing the University of Wolverhampton. 

Job role;     

  • To support the team with the delivery of interactive sessions and workshops to young people in schools and colleges. This may involve travel to local schools / colleges and other university campuses (including other local universities)
  • To encourage people to consider higher education as a viable option for their future
  • To assist with the delivery of summer schools
  • To assist with the delivery of presentations about higher education and student life drawing on your own experiences
  • To support and chaperone groups of school/college pupils during on and off campus events
  • To positively promote University of Wolverhampton / Explore University activities to schools and colleges
  • To assist with the setup of on campus events
  • To display a responsible, reliable and professional attitude at all times
  • To be enthusiastic about higher education
  • To be a positive role model for the university

You will aslo have the opportunity to take further training if you wish to specialise a specific role (with increased pay).
