Biography

Arsalan Tauqir Khawaja is a Lecturer in Corporate Finance at The University of Wolverhampton Business School. Prior to this appointment, he worked as a visiting lecturer in finance at Birmingham City University.  

Arsalan Tauqir Khawja has over seven years of experience consulting on economic reforms, private sector development, corporate finance, and Project/Programme management of SME development programmes. He has advised companies, financial institutions, and regulators in Pakistan. He served as the Team Leader of “Business Edge Quality Assurance”- a joint collaborative programme between SME Business Support Fund, Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan and International Finance Corporation- World Bank (Pakistan). He also represented SME Business Support Fund, Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan at the State Bank of Pakistan- SME Finance Focus Group Meetings.

Research interests

Arsalan Tauqir Khawaja is interested in researching the SME Finance issues. In particular the bank credit risk assessment of SME loan applications and the influence of finance gap on the growth and survival of SMEs. He is also interested in corporate finance areas such as: mergers and acquisitions, credit ratings and stock market performances.
