Biography

From an early age, I was always interested in the process of designing and developing products, which led me to study Product Design Engineering. While my research career has taken me into areas such as innovation, service management and operations, I retain my interest in design theory and practice. Currently my main focus is on 3D printing and its applications in industry. I was awarded a University of Wolverhampton Early Researcher Award Scheme (ERAS) grant to study this topic in 2015.

My research has been published in a number of prestigious journals, including Journal of Product Innovation Management, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Journal of Service Management, Creativity and Innovation Management, Design Management journal and Games & Culture.

I joined the University in July 2014 as a lecturer in Operations Management. Prior to that, I spent 7 years at Nottingham University Business School, working as a researcher on a number of EPSRC and EU funded research projects. These include the Design Scoreboard project, with collaborators from Cambridge, Strathclyde, Cranfield, Dundee and Loughborough ; and De:facto, including partners from Spain, Ireland and Slovenia. I was part of the Stage:It project, an industry/academia partnership investigating customer experience driven innovation and involving my secondment to a software development company in Odense, Denmark.

In my spare time, I train in the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira at the Birmingham branch of Cordao de Ouro. I am also a former member of the Nottingham University Handball Club and would love to see a handball club starting here in Wolverhampton.
