Miceal Barden joined the Faculty of Social Sciences on the 14th October 2014.
Prior to joining the University, Miceal headed up the Law School at Manchester Metropolitan University, alongside teaching EU Law to LLB and GDL students since 2007.
His career began as a research officer with the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and the Law Commission. He then began his teaching career at East London Polytechnic in 1990, moving on to Staffordshire University where he stayed for 12 years, leaving as a Principal Lecturer in 2003. He then moved on to become a Regional Manager and Group Regional Manager for the Open University before returning to Staffordshire University as Faculty Director of Business and Law in 2005.
Miceal retains a long standing interest in EU and European human rights issue.
The Faculty of Social Sciences are delighted to have Miceal on board and look forward to combined efforts in steering the Faculty through its next phase.
