We run regular Code Club sessions as part of a nationwide network of volunteer led after school coding clubs for children aged 9 - 11.
Our first club (Wolverhampton Library Service; Children’s Library) was preceded by some taster sessions during the October half term 2015, with the Monday evening sessions commencing once term commenced. Apart from Holiday periods and Bank Holidays this has run every week until 6th June 2016. The first Club was based on the Scratch software using materials provided by code club, with the children working on a different activity each week, developing skills that enabled them to be creative in designing their own game towards the end of the first 12 weeks.
This year we commence again on Monday 12th September at 4.30 in Wolverhampton Central Library. Places are booked via the Childrens Library. We will be starting a new Code Club in Bilston Library on Wednesdays from 4.30. To book go to the Info desk in the Library. Clubs will run each Monday and Wednesday for 12 weeks and will have sessions at 4.30 and 5.30.
If you would like to start a code club in your school and would like some help in getting established we are happy to share our experience and possibly provide a Student Ambassador to help out.
We run the club as part of the Nationwide Code Club Volunteering network.
