UWR Supports Dawley STEM Activity Day

The University of Wolverhampton Race (UWR) Team proudly supported Dawley Primary Academy in their STEM Activity Day last week. All 200 students were given various activities based on science, technology, engineering and maths.

The University racing team supported with their Pit-Stop Challenge, where students were timed at changing a wheel on a single-seater racing car and the fastest overall won tickets to the F3 Cup championship final round at Oulton Park in just over a weeks time.

Other activities included building bridges, coding, 3D printing and eating bugs!

The 9 different activity providers who supported the event were:

  • Amazing ICT - Richard Smith
  • University of Wolverhampton - UWR
  • Shropshire 3D print - Paul Brewer
  • Birmingham City University - Duncan Maidens
  • Code Club West Midlands - Tim Wilson
  • Harper Adams University - Rachel Brookes
  • RAF Museum Cosford - Mary Wycherley
  • Rotary Great Britain - Robyn Davies
  • Exoticzoo - Kim

A big thank you to SusanSTEMZone for organising this fantastic event; UWR always looks to engage with engineers of the future and this was the perfect platform to do so!
