Pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry and forensic toxicology.
Dr. Mole joined the teaching staff at Wolverhampton in 1988. His background is that of a Chemist/Biochemist and he has many years of teaching experience in the areas of pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry and forensic toxicology. His PhD and Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship centred upon the solid phase synthesis of peptides for potential therapeutic application. He has practical skills in the analytical sciences including use of UV/visible spectroscopy, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy (including 2D), mass spectroscopy, high-pressure liquid chromatography, gas-liquid chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy.
Dr. Mole currently has a managerial responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Physical Sciences Team within the Department of Pharmacy (School of Applied Sciences).
Dr. Mole is currently active with two Knowledge Transfer Programmes (KTP’s) in the fields of Analytical Toxicology and Polymeric Materials for Industrial Application respectively.
