I initially trained as a Biomedical Scientist in Cytology and Histology and worked in the profession, gaining experience in several different laboratories around the West Midlands area during my 16 years in the NHS. Before moving into teaching at the University, I managed the Birmingham Cytology Training Centre at the Women’s hospital. The training centre supports the delivery of training for scientists, nurses and medics involved in the cervical screening programme in the West Midlands as well as other areas of the UK.


I am currently the course leader for the BSc Biomedical Science award, deliver teaching in cellular pathology and support students during their work based placement as part of the BSc Applied Biomedical Science route leading to HCPC registration
