I have degrees in Environmental Science (UG) and Environmental Policy Analysis (MSc) and a PhD in Environmental Management as well as a PG Cert in Academic Practice. I have been at the University for 25 years, primarily as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer although I have also worked in the International Centre as Hong Kong Link Manager, Business Development Manager and Trans-National Education Manager. I am course leader for the MSc awards in Environmental Management and Oil and Gas Management. As part of my teaching duties I have had the pleasure of teaching and/or presenting papers in a number of countries, including in the Americas, Europe, Africa, South Asia and South East Asia.
I was the Project Leader for a level 7 European Social Fund Skills for Climate Change which involved the joint integration of universities across the West Midlands in providing a module for Senior Managers in Small and Medium sized enterprises within the region. I am currently in the process of developing a new undergraduate award in Geography, Urban Environment and Climate Change.
My areas of expertise concern environmental management, sustainability and climate change.
In addition to environmental management and sustainability I am interested in pedagogic research, especially with regards to international students.
