I am a qualified teacher, specialising in Secondary English. I have considerable experience of working in secondary schools in the West Midlands, holding posts in literacy across the curriculum development and management responsibility for Key Stage 3 as well as teaching English and Media up to Key Stage 5.

I have also worked as a Local Authority Educational Consultant, specialising in English and Ethnic Minority Achievement and have lead projects focusing on primary-secondary transition, assessment for learning and development of provision for pupils with English as an additional language.

I am a former member of the National Association for Teachers of English Drama and Creativity Committee and am currently a committee member and Trustee of the National Association of Advisers in English. I have significant experience in delivering training for teachers, coaching teachers and supporting whole-school improvement, as well as my current experience in working with those just entering the profession.
