About

I have worked in the NHS for 24 years in following areas:

  • Orthopaedic Rehabilitation
  • Medicine (Haematology, Diabetes, Elderly care)
  • Emergency Medicine
  • NHS Direct – Nurse Advise
  • Public Health/Health Promotion – Smoking Cessation Services
  • Governance -  Patient Quality, Patient Safety Manager  & Risk and Compliance Manager

My previous role in Governance has involved supporting the development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of patient quality in relation to risk and compliance systems and processes.  This included areas such as CQC, NHSLA, CNST, Risk Management, Policies, NICE guidance and Audit. I have taken part and lead on external and internal visits such as Appreciative Enquiries and Internal Audit with CQC.

I joined education in 2012 and work with the University of Wolverhampton as a Senior Adult Lecturer (Adult Nursing Pre-registration). This has involved working across campuses (City, Walsall and Burton) contributing to the provision of quality learning and teaching within the Faculty. I work with the SUCCESS group (service users and carers contributing to educating students for services) which has beneficial to students in their development. I hope to support and enhance the quality of learning and assessment in practice for pre-registration student nurses and provide support to mentors/ staff/managers in carrying out their role effectively.  I am currently working as Deputy Award to the Adult Nursing Programme.
