About

I am currently working at the University of Wolverhampton as the Head of Department for Primary Initial Teacher Training.  My most salient responsibility is to lead the primary team with regard to providing a clear programme of study for our trainees who are engaged across a range of routes to achieve qualified teacher status, including undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as employment- based routes.  As a team we work hard to provide high quality learning experiences for trainees and to ensure that centre-based and school-based training provide a cohesive and challenging experience in which trainees make good progress and become successful and reflective practitioners.

Further responsibilities are teaching across all programmes, strategic planning and annual monitoring, as well as chairing and attending a number of committees and local networks.  Further to this, I work closely with schools, teachers and Local Authority Advisers to provide continued professional development and support
