About

Building on a communications-based degree, I pursued a career in Administration. I have worked in the University for over ten years. I started in the Institute for Learning Enhancement as a Receptionist and Personal Assistant. I then became the Department Administrator. To learn new skills and develop my experience in other parts of the university, I applied for the role of Executive Assistant for the Dean of the School of Health and Wellbeing. After a year in this post, I was promoted to a Team Leader Quality and Academic Development. This role was very varied and allowed me to develop my skills in the management of people. After nearly four years, the universities administration was reviewed and I was transferred into the role as Faculty Quality Administrator within the Faculty of Education Health and Wellbeing. This transition allowed me to work with new disciplines such as Sport, Secondary Education and Post Compulsory Education. In this current post, I have a more focussed role and work with staff on new academic developments, changes to provision and professional body accreditation, approval and endorsements.

Faculty Quality Administrator, July 2014 - present

  • Co-ordinate the Faculty’s quality assurance and enhancement processes, ensuring they meet appropriate regulations
  • Comprehensive administrative support for the Faculty’s academic development, quality management and assurance activity in close liaison with University Quality Management and Planning Divisions to reflect agreed responsibilities
  • Administration of the Faculty’s academic portfolio development
  • Coordination of external examiner processes
  • Training, advising and supporting Faculty staff in use of University quality and other related systems and processes
  • Monitoring Faculty initiatives to improve the student experience, including support for learning and teaching developments

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and robust electronic archiving system
