About

I am employed as a Senior Lecturer in Social Work at the University of Wolverhampton. I teach on the B.A. Social Work course and on joint modules with Social Care, Social Policy and various health disciplines. I was an active participant in the University Every Child Matters Operations Group, developing policy and practice in relation to inter-professional education including the development of an MBA (Integrated Children’s Services). I have facilitated an action learning set for children’s services managers from a number of local authorities and participated in a National Pathfinder research programme on E PDP.  In 2009 I was awarded the HLSS Blended Learning Excellence Award.

I have also been employed by the Higher Education Academy (SWAP) as a consultant on the ELTEP project to promote the use of e learning within social work and social policy.

I was the lead academic supervisor for a three year Knowledge Transfer Partnership, researching the outcomes of specialist residential childcare.

In  2010 I organised a regional conference on The Future of Education and Employment.

I have also undertaken extensive in service training in relation to social work practice and management and have provided training for a variety of organisations on child protection, social work with children and families, group dynamics, violence at work etc
