Midwifery

Practice learning will account for a minimum of 50% of the midwifery programme.  The Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing works in partnership with placement providers to provide high quality practice learning experiences  that enable students to experience 24 hour/7 day care, to develop an understanding of the needs and experiences of women and babies throughout a 24 hour period.

All placements will be quality assured accordingly to ensure they meet professional requirements.

Students will be placed with one NHS Trust for the duration of the programme and will work in hospital and community settings where they can experience all aspects of midwifery practice.    Students will also have the opportunity to experience medical, surgical and critical care nursing as part of the midwifery programme.
