This module will enable qualified social workers to effectively support the learning and assessment of professional capability of social workers in the practice setting.
The content addresses the knowledge and values underpinning learning and assessment in the work-place based on the domains of ability for work-based learning set out in the practice educator standards (PEPS 2013):
Practice based learning
Candidates are required, as part of the module’s learning content, to provide a social work candidate with supervision, learning support and assessment.
Assessment is through a written account of being a practice development educator and the presentation of a portfolio of examples of performance drawn from a range of practice documents and feedback.
Applicants need to be registered social workers and will normally need to have been qualified for a minimum of two years.
