Amy Harris is a current Art & Design Foundation Degree student from Telford College of Arts and Technology who has been busy working on an exciting new commission for Dior.  Amy's journey began through developing a range of beautifully intricate wildlife illustrations on the theme 'Decadence and Decay' in response to a first year project, she worked with her Father's company Jonathan Harris Art Glass to further extend her project by applying her designs onto glass.  Her work attracted a great deal of attention whilst on display at the end of year college exhibition and also she successfully sold many pieces at The Big Art Show, in Shrewsbury. Her success has led onto further work and exciting opportunities.  Amy was later approached by Jonathan Harris Art Glass to further their collaboration to work on a new project with Dior; the brief was to design a collection of glass pieces to be sold in their home ware collection.  Amy set about creating new designs to fit in with the client’s requirements.  Jonathan Harris used a combination of refined techniques including diamond point engraving and sand carving to apply her designs to the glass vessels and were sent to Paris.  Amy's work has been sold in Dior's Flagship Store in Paris leading to further orders using more of Amy's designs!  Amy is a very creative student and through exploring many different specialist techniques on her Foundation Degree course is now very focused upon a career in surface pattern.
