Afshan Ambreen, one of our final year Fashion and Textiles students, has been selected as a finalist in the 'Diversity Now' competition which is in association with i-D Magazine and supported by Arts Thread and Graduate Fashion Week.
Afshan Ambreen has commented on her success in being shortlisted
"The future of fashion is Gender-less!!
I believe that fashion should not be predetermined; fashion should be limitless and not defined by socially constructed norms and specifically not by gender. Through design I intend to challenge ‘the rules’ and embrace people from all walks of life to celebrate diversity and individuality. The future is a unisex and ageless market uniting fashion lovers of all ages, genders and races.
It is extremely important to me that both sexes are equal in society. As well as addressing equality, unisex fashion addresses sustainability through the creation of multiple purpose clothing."
