Kate has taught at the University of Wolverhampton for over twenty years. She trained and worked for Gazebo TIE company before studying Drama at Exeter University. She co-founded Foursight Theatre – a national touring women’s theatre company - in 1988. She worked as a Director, Facilitator, Performer, Writer and Dramaturg for the company for twenty five years and taught on their actor training course ‘Serious Play’. She has also worked as freelance artist creating small-scale community and educational theatre performances and projects in response to professional programme briefs for amongst others: Shropshire County Council’s Valuing the Arts, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Black Country Touring’s/R:evolve resonate, Grand Theatre Education and Amnesty International.
Kate has been on the board of directors of a number of professional organisations including, Gazebo TIE, Newhampton Arts Centre, Black Country Touring, Independent Theatre Council and most recently WOW (Women of Wolverhampton)
Kate has a Practice as Research MA (University of Warwick) which critiqued democratic devising processes.
She is currently researching for her PhD which is on the ethics of One-to-One theatre.
