Musicians from Dudley, Wolverhampton and Sandwell Music Hubs came together to form a jazz orchestra. The musicians rehearsed for two days in our fantastic facilities in The Performance Hub, finishing with an evening performance. The Orchestra featured some of the University's current students and graduates as well as other local musicians who had the fabulous opportunity to perform alongside Mark Nightingale, an international trombonist.
The Black Country Jazz Orchestra is supported by the Worfield Charity Concert Trust which was established nearly 40 years ago to support local young musicians in their development and enhancement of their career prospects. the Trust has recently provided funds for the purchase of a Steinway piano for the student atrium space in the Performance Hub and is offering two annual Music Masters Scholarships from October 2015.
