The School of Performing Arts has an impressive history shaped by contemporary arts practice. Based in the landmark Performance Hub at Walsall Campus the School not only offers industry-standard equipment and magnificent rehearsal and performance spaces, but also boasts All-Steinway status, one of the first universities in the UK to do so. First year Musical Theatre students were given dance tips by acclaimed actor and dancer, Layton Williams, when he delivered an intensive workshop recently. West End star, Layton, visited the Performance Hub to help the students prepare for their solo and ensemble performances in their first modular assessments in ‘Musical Theatre Practice’. More details
Musical maestro Gareth Malone used our cutting edge facilities at the Performance Hub to get singers performance-ready in his new BBC series, The Naked Choir. The choirs used the whole of the Performance Hub, taking advantage of several of our studio spaces to bring their performances to life. More details
