Creative Masters students exhibit work

02/09/2010

Artwork by more than 50 Masters students will be exhibited at The MA Graduate Show 2010 from Saturday 4 September to Friday 10 September 2010.

This exhibition, at the School of Art & Design building in Molineux Street, Wolverhampton, is the culmination of years of hard work for full-time and part-time Masters students studying Fine Art, Art & Design and Design for Advertising courses.

Creations on display at the lively show are from a variety of disciplines including painting, sculpture, print, illustration and photography to audio-visual pieces, animation, glass works and installation.

Professor Dew Harrison, Associate Dean, Research & Postgraduate Studies from the School of Art & Design, said: " This exhibition is the culmination of the excellent work undertaken by our Masters students over the last year or two and shows the diversity of creative thinking, skills and professional approach to practice that they have achieved in that time.

“Both full-time and part-time students have come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to contribute to the debates and extend theirindividual practices, with a good proportion of international students to offer enriched cultural understandings of art and design.

“Following on from this exhibition and graduation, we wish our students continued success in their endeavours and future plans, whether this is to further develop their individual practice, work in the creative industries, teach, or continue to research at doctorallevel.

“We hope that the MA experience has left them well-equipped to prosper and make their mark on the world."

The free exhibition opens to the public on Saturday 4 September from 10am to 4pm, and is also open from Monday 6 September to Friday 10 September, 9am to 5pm.

A photographic exhibition featuring the early career of drum and bass star and graffiti artist Goldie is running alongside the exhibition. ‘Stairway to Fame’ is the work of Goldie’s former manager and agent Martin Jones and chronicles Goldie’s time as a breakdancer and graffiti artist in Wolverhampton.
