Airport boss announced as speaker

The Crystal Lecture, now in its 17th year, is an event for business people hosted jointly by the and Chartered Management Institute.

This year, Paul Kehoe will present a talk entitled High hopes in hard times, looking at the global economic downturn and the challenges of running an airport business.

The Crystal Lecture will take place on Tuesday, 19 October 2010 at the University of Wolverhampton’s Telford Campus in Priorslee.

Professor Kit Field, Acting Dean of the University of Wolverhampton Business School, said: “The Crystal Lecture is a flagship event for the Business School and the University. We feel very privileged to welcome Paul Kehoe and to learn an expert view on the wider implications of the economic downturn on the region.

“It is through our partnership with CMI that we are able to host this prestigious and informative event. Such partnerships help us to have a positive impact across the business community.”

Gerwyn Jones, Wolverhampton branch chair of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), said: “The Crystal Lecture always hosts a business speaker who is both entertaining and engaging. We are pleased that Paul Kehoe agreed to speak for us this year. He brings with him a wealth of experience within the aviation industry and his insight into the recent challenges which airports and airlines have had to face. I am looking forward to hearing his management and leadership approach, to an expected audience of over 250 people who usually attend the Annual Lecture.”

Paul Kehoe joined Birmingham International Airport in October 2008, and prior to that he was Chief Executive at Bristol International Airport.

Previous speakers at the Crystal Lecture include Brendan Barber, TUC General Secretary, and star of The Apprentice, Ruth Badger.
