A changing curriculum for a changing future

Learning Works is the new undergraduate portfolio for the University and  is designed to provide students with the key skills and knowledge they need for the world of work.  Students will also be offered a work placement, the opportunity to run their own businesses, volunteering, mentoring, or an international study visit, to prepare them for employment.

Over the last six months the University has reviewed all its courses to make sure they are suited to student needs and demand and will prepare students for employment.

In addition, students will benefit from two new Institutes in Media Arts and Gaming and Animation. The Institutes will nurture students in an environment that builds on IT, Design and critical skills and is informed by the business and industry needs of those sectors.

The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Caroline Gipps, said: “Wolverhampton has always had a strong focus on employability and in this difficult economic climate it is even more important to provide our graduates with skills that employers value.  We’ve taken our existing strengths and built on them.

“The aim of Learning Works is to ensure that our graduates are digitally literate, knowledgeable and enterprising; we want our graduates to be global citizens, with a strong understanding of their ethical responsibilities in the world.”
