Uni launches new course

27/01/2009

The Masters in Business Administration MBA (Integrated Children’s Services) is aimed at managers who work in children’s services and want to develop their leadership and integrated services management skills. The MBA (Integrated Children’s Services) will be of interest to a broad range of practitioners and managers working in health, education and social services across the public, private and voluntary sectors.

The course will be available from this month (January 2009) and supports the University’s commitment to Every Child Matters and integrated services for children, young people and families.

The part-time course has a balance of core MBA and Integrated Children’s Services modules which include: managing safeguarding; working together and leading within integrated services; managing complexity; strategic management; organisational change and transformation.

Christine Vincent, Coordinator for Integrated Services for children, young people and families across the University, said: “This is an exciting and timely new course which will enable those leading and managing integrated children’s services to develop their careers. There will be a strong emphasis on reflecting upon practice and the chance for students to undertake a project which is directly related to their current role.”

The course has been developed in collaboration with the University’s Business School, School of Legal Studies, School of Health, School of Education and School of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences.
