Cutting edge snappers put Wolves on the map

Professional models from across the UK have visited the School of Art & Design as part of the scheme, which aims to helpsoon-to-be-graduates studying a BA (Hons) Photography develop their skills at a commercial level.Cutting edge snappers put wolves on the map‌
 
For Sapphires, the arrangement is all about putting the region on the fashion map. Despite having opened a second office in London, Sapphires are committed to develop talent in the Black Country.
 
Neely Reyes, founder of Sapphires, said: “We strongly believe that our region has just as much talent as anywhere else in the country, but the only difference is that there aren’t always the same outlets readily available to give the talent the chance to shine. We are now privileged enough to be in the position to provide talented people with the resources needed to get started, which we think will only help the region.”
 
Peter Day, Senior Lecturer in Photography at the University, said: “It’s always my aim to get students real commercial experience and this is a great way to give our budding photographers firsthand experience of working on a professional shoot.”
 
Student Sarina Kulair was among one of the lucky few to be chosen and experience what it was like to work on a professional shoot.
 
She said: “These were real models that had travelled from around the country to work with us. One girl even flew in from Glasgow just for the shoot so the pressure was definitely on to perform. But, the feedback we’ve got has been fantastic and we are really pleased to have been selected to be involved. I would love to become a fashion photographer and this kind of experience is invaluable to me.
