12/01/2018

The University of Wolverhampton is holding a free event to highlight waste management solutions for businesses and industry professionals.

The EnTRESS technology showcase, which is being supported by the Environment Agency, will explore best practice and innovation within the waste management industry, as well as the impact of waste crime and duty of care.

EnTRESS provides business support on environmental technologies and resource efficiency to Black Country Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014 - 2020.

Bringing together the private, public and academic sectors this event will provide guidance to both businesses and waste management professionals, providing information to help the Black Country to become a low carbon economy.

Matt Mellors, EnTRESS Project Manager, said: “Attendees will hear keynote speakers from the Environment Agency, Rolls-Royce plc and the University of Wolverhampton along with local SMEs who are in receipt of EnTRESS support promoting their innovative solutions to waste management within the circular economy.

“The EnTRESS team will be on hand to discuss how the project can support businesses in developing and implementing environmental technology and increasing productivity through more efficient use of resources.”

The EnTRESS Environmental Showcase: Waste Management Solutions – Right Waste Right Place will be held on Thursday 1st March 2018 at the University of Wolverhampton Science Park’s Technology Centre from 7.45 am until 12.00 midday.

There will also be an opportunity to take a tour of the brand new £10.1m three-storey Science, Technology and Prototyping Centre at the end of the event for those who are interested.  Book via Eventbrite to attend the event or contact matt.mellors@wlv.ac.uk/ entress@wlv.ac.uk for more information.
