Special event to acknowledge students’ achievements

05/12/2017

Westford University College organised its first ‘Colloquium’ to acknowledge the achievements of the students who have successfully completed their MBA degree with the University of Wolverhampton.

Westford University College has been associated with the University of Wolverhampton since 2012, and this collaboration has resulted in providing a high quality of education in the United Arab Emirates.

The Event:

The main aim at the event on Saturday 25 November 2017 was to give students an opportunity to share their research journey, challenges and best practices. The rich insights and valuable suggestions that were shared during the event showcased the standard of work expected from all forthcoming students.

The Program Structure:

Each participant was allowed a total of seven minutes to present the key findings of their research, two minutes for question and answers and one minute for concluding statements. A total of seven participants presented their work. Although they were a little pressed for time, all of them did a commendable job of conveying the outcomes and challenges of their research.

The winners of the colloquium were judged on three important criteria; content, engagement and presentation.

The colloquium was followed by the certification ceremony. The HND, BABM and EDIBM students received their certificate for the successful completion of their respective programs.

The Panellists:

The event was judged by two panellists: Dr Andrew Hambler who is the Trans-national Education Regional Manager at the University of Wolverhampton and Mr Fadi Majzoub who is an Entrepreneur, Business Coach and also a former faculty member of Westford University College.

The Participants:

All the participants who presented their dissertation received a merit or a distinction for their exemplary work.  Their names are: Mr Ryan Fernandez, Ms Analisa Mediano, Ms Sharmila Faizal, Mr Ashok Malcolm, Mr Mehul Paul, Mr Ranjeeth Murthy, Mr Sudeesh Robert and Mr Brijesh Nair.

Mr Ryan Fernandez received the award for the best presenter of the ‘Colloquium 2017’.

Key members of the audience:

A great end to an eventful day:

The event was a great success due to the great presentations by the students, the encouragement provided by the audience, the invaluable presence of the panellists and the hard work of all the people who helped organise the event.

We sincerely hope to see more positive outcomes from such events in the future.
