Olympic medallist to visit Open Day

15/11/2016

Olympic medallist and new student Kristian Thomas will be sharing his experiences of life at the University of Wolverhampton at its next Open Day.

Gymnast Kristian, who won bronze at London 2012, has started a BSc (Hons) Strength and Conditioning course at the Institute of Sport.

He will be sharing his tips and posing for a few selfies at the University’s Open Day on Saturday, 19 November 2016.

The Open Day will take place at the University’s Wolverhampton, Walsall and Telford Campuses from 10am-3pm, and Kristian will be meeting visitors to Walsall. There will also be information about nursing and midwifery courses available at Burton Education Centre.

Kristian will join the Welcome Talk presented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Jackie Dunne and will also take part in the sports courses presentation.

Director of External Relations, Katharine Clough, said: “Current students are always a major part of our Open Days, acting as helpers and guides and sharing their thoughts on how to make the most of University life, so we’re delighted to have Kristian on board. As he started his course just a few weeks ago, Kristian can share his experiences of being a student and how he is finding studying alongside his other commitments.

“We also have talks, tours and workshops throughout the day at all of our campuses, as well as chances to chat with academics in the Subject Fair. There is also plenty of information about careers, finances and support services in the Student Support Zone.”
