University welcomes new Chamber Chief Executive

The University of Wolverhampton has welcomed the appointment of Corin Crane as the new Chief Executive of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.

Corin is set to join the Chamber from Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Geoff Layer, said: “I am delighted to welcome Corin Crane as the new Chief Executive of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce. As a Patron of the Chamber, the University makes a tremendous contribution to the regional economy, and was recently named as the Express and Star’s Business of the Year in recognition of the amazing work of our students, staff and Governors.

“We also have an important role nurturing and supporting businesses to grow within the region, so look forward to working with Corin and the team at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce in the future.”

The University’s ambitious Our Vision, Your Opportunity investment programme is committed to generating £250 million of investment in five years, to improve the student experience and to boost the local economy. The latest figures show 96% of graduates are in employment or further study six months after graduating, with 80% choosing to stay in the West Midlands.
