University Manager scoops award

Amanda Shipley of the University of Wolverhampton has been awarded CUBO’s Business Manager of the Year.

The CUBO Awards were held at the Royal Holloway, University of London on 3 July.

The awards were open to all higher education institutions and businesses associated with CUBO's areas of activity.  

Amanda has been with the University for just over three years and has been committed to making positive changes.

Under Amanda’s management, catering outlets have received several awards and opportunities for student work experience have increased.

She said: “I am delighted to have won the award and being recognised for the work I do at the university. I must say I am lucky to have such strong team members who are committed to improving student experience.”

Emma Furnival, Assistant Director of Hospitality and Accommodation Services at the University, said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled for Amanda, she has made tremendous strides in improving the student experience, catering offer, retail offer and guest satisfaction. The award is truly deserved. ”

The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) state they are pleased to see its members continue to be recognised for their hard work and commitment within catering and innovation.
