University to host Budget event

03/10/2014

The ‘Live Budget Event’, hosted at the University of Wolverhampton Science Park, will see an open forum taking place after the Budget has been broadcast live on Wednesday 20 March.

The event will give guests the chance to watch George Osborne’s statement at the new state-of-the-art visualisation centre before finding out how the Chancellor’s measures could affect businesses in the region.

The panel will include Paul Forrest from the West Midlands Economic Forum; along with Tony Elliot, tax director at the Birmingham office of national accountancy firm Chantrey Vellacott DFK.

Professor Mike Haynes and Dr Stuart Farquhar from the University of Wolverhampton Business School will also be on the panel, as will Gary Dimmock, manager of the Business Solutions Centre.

The panel will be chaired by the highly regarded Charles Hanmer, Chairman of the West Midlands Manufacturing Club.

Gary Dimmock, speaking on behalf of the Business Solutions Centre, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this event to mark the 2013 Budget statement. I’d urge local businesses not to miss out on this fantastic opportunity to view the Budget first hand in our new visualisation centre, and to tap into expert analysis of how the Budget will affect their enterprises across the West Midlands area.”

The event is due to begin at 12:00pm and there will be a buffet lunch provided. The open forum will conclude around 3:00pm.

There is no cost to attend but pre-registration is required online or you can call 01902 321272.
