On the spot offers from University

11/06/2013

The “on the spot offer” initiative will see the University having the chance to make unconditional offers to prospective students, based on suitable confirmed grades, as well as conditional offers to those who have suitable predicted grades.

The scheme has been designed for those who would be starting on undergraduate courses in September, and is dependent on the student bringing along evidence of their qualifications on the day itself.

Speaking about the new initiative, Jane Nelson, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Student Recruitment at the University, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to people who come along to our Open Day.

“If you’ve already received your results, or are waiting for confirmation of grades, we can offer you a place at the University on the day. Tutors and admissions staff will be on hand to offer their guidance and help prospective students through the process.”

Applicants have also been given the chance to log on to the University’s website to access a virtual open day at any time. The new virtual open day has been created to showcase the University and give people an illustration of what Wolverhampton has to offer.

It provides clear and concise information about the wide range of courses and an overview of the support available and any fees and costs.

Louise O’Neill, Education Events Manager at the University, said: “The Open Day and virtual open day are fantastic ways for prospective students to discover more about the University of Wolverhampton and how it can support them in their future goals.

“We are always utilising new technologies and ways of communicating with potential students which we hope will provide them with a clear picture regarding what life is like for a student at Wolverhampton.

“Faculties across campuses are displayed with 360 degree views so visitors can really get a feel of what is available to students. As the University runs five physical open days every year, this new virtual facility is a great way to provide accessible, up to date information 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
