Over 850 people attend Recruitment Fair

Major employers and more than 850 students and graduates attended a successful jobs fair at the University of Wolverhampton.

The annual Recruitment Fair attracted a number of top employers including HMRC, Capgemini, Penso Consulting Ltd, Cummins Ltd. Endsleigh Ltd and Telford & Wrekin Council.

The event enabled leading employers to promote their graduate jobs and placement opportunities to high calibre graduates and students.

A variety of private and public sector organisations attended the event advertising more than 500 vacancies. The employers are expecting to fill all the vacancies over the next few weeks as a direct result of the jobs fair.

Helene Turley, Employer Engagement Manager, said: “This year’s Recruitment Fair was a huge success, attracting hundreds of University of Wolverhampton students and graduates.

“We were pleased to welcome so many high profile employers, demonstrating the value placed on the skills of Wolverhampton graduates. At a challenging time in the jobs market, the University is committed to providing opportunities for our students and graduates to enhance their employability by gaining real work experience and ensuring they have the skills and attributes to impress potential employers.”

Students and graduates could also access advice from the Careers Clinic where Careers Advisors were on hand offering CVs and application forms advice.

Other exhibitors at the Recruitment Fair at the Wolverhampton City Campus on Wednesday, 17 October 2012 included Hays Recruiting, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Altair Engineering, Bryn Melyn Care Ltd, Cromwell, Shropshire Council, Tradedoubler and Workplace Products/QMP.
