University to host Open Day

11/06/2012

The University of Wolverhampton will be opening its doors to potential students this week for its latest Open Day.

The event will be taking place at the Wolverhampton and Walsall Campuses on Friday, 15 June 2012, from 10am until 3pm.

As well as prospective students for the next academic year, the event will be welcoming pupils from schools and colleges across Wolverhampton and the Black Country.

There will be an opportunity to meet lecturers and current students, talk through the range of courses on offer and see a series of displays and demonstrations.

Visitors will be able to tour the facilities and student accommodation, and talk to the experts about finances and careers as well as finding out what the Students’ Union provides.

Ian Hart, Head of Student Recruitment, said: “The Open Day offers a fantastic opportunity to take a closer look around the University and talk to people about the various study options we offer.

“There will be talks, tours and workshops on a range of subjects, from careers and finances to accommodation and how to apply.

“At Wolverhampton City Campus you can find out about applied sciences, art and design, business, computing and IT, engineering and the built environment, health and nursing, law, social sciences and communications.

“Meanwhile, there will be information about sport, music, dance, drama, leisure and lifestyle industries, midwifery, nursing, teaching and education courses at Walsall.

“This is the first time we have held an open day on a Friday for a number of years so we’re also hoping people working in the area, who may be thinking about postgraduate or part-time study, will come along during the day at some point.”

People can pre-register for the day by visiting www.wlv.ac.uk.

Visitors can also download an Open Day mobile application by visiting their phone’s app store and searching for the University of Wolverhampton.
