Procession to celebrate justice

Judges, magistrates and police officers will take part in a procession as part of an annual service to celebrate justice in the region.

The University of Wolverhampton is organising the Annual Service to Celebrate the Administration of Justice on Sunday, 4 March 2012.

Senior University staff will join judges, barristers, solicitors, court staff, prison and probation officers for a procession through the city.

The service will take place at the Collegiate Church of St Peter’s in Wolverhampton city centre at 11am.

Professor of Sociology and Social Change and Dean of the School of Law, Social Sciences and Communications Judith Burnett, said: “The Annual Service has become an important event in the calendar of the University and represents an opportunity for the legal and academic communities to come together in recognition of the work of all those serving and upholding justice in the region.”

University representatives will include Professor Burnett, Governors and Policing students and members of faith communities will also attend.

It is the eighth year the service has been held in the city.
